La rando ou le cross-country (XC) : les crosseurs ou randonneurs aiment avaler du kilomètre, du dénivelé et sont souvent, pour caricaturer, adeptes des montées impossibles. Le cross-country est la première discipline VTT admise aux JO d’Atlanta. De nombreux champions en descente sont d’anciens crosseurs.
