Raid

You’ll start this first day as fresh as a daisy – a good thing too, as this is the longest stage of the ‘Tour de l’Oisans’, with almost 2000m of height gain and loss.
From Les Deux-Alpes, and from the Vallée Blanche chairlift, follow ‘Petit-Plan’ and then ‘Mont-de-Lans’ (route no. 23). From Mont-de-Lans, at the junction of the small road to Cuculet, take the path that runs alongside the road and drop down to the Chambon dam. Cross the dam and ride up the road to Mizoën. Follow signs for ‘Singuigneret’ and ride up the long track to the Chalet des Mouterres and on to the Col du Souchet. Then go down the bends to the village of Le Chazelet (route no. 7). Follow signs to ‘Pic du Mas de la Grave’ and climb up to the Refuge du Rif Tort (route no. 9). You are then set for the descent on the GR54 to Besse-en-Oisans (route no. 8).
