Climbing

Excellent training route, also good for exploring the area. Gradual training of your legs will help you to tackle the climb up to Laffrey fairly easily and relaxed.
From the plateau of Matheysin up to the Col d’Ornon, the climb remains regular and pleasant.
The large variety of landscapes and terrains makes this a very attractive itinerary!
From Bourg-d’Oisans follow the RN91 towards Grenoble as far as Séchilienne, then turn left to go to Laffrey. Follow the small road through the woods. At the traffic lights in Laffrey turn left and go to the lake, then follow the D115a to La Mure; this is a scenic route.
Once you have reached La Mure, follow the D26 towards Valbonnais, then the D526 to the Col d’Ornon and from the pass you can go back down to Bourg-d’Oisans on the RN91.
LAKE LAFFREY
Lake Laffrey, which is 3 km long, is the 8th biggest natural lake in France. It is 39 m deep ans its crystal clear waters are home to a variety of fish. Its bank have been developed for tourism, with a leisure park, mountain-bike circuits and water sports.
